SAGE Publications: Invite to Review Writing for Sociologists

ASUNTO:  SAGE Publications: Invite to Review Writing for Sociologists

Dear Professor Vera Hernandez,

I’m writing from SAGE Publications to inquire if you’d be willing to review four (4) draft chapters of Writing for Sociologists. I’m looking for reviewers who teach a course on or related to Writing in Sociology and are currently using a textbook in their course (not a course-packet or collection of readings).

As to the logistics of the review: The material to review is approximately one hundred thirty (130) double-spaced pages. Should you choose to undertake the review, I will provide you with the draft chapters and a review questionnaire via email. You can write your comments directly into the questionnaire document and return it to me via email.

The due date for your comments is Monday, December 5th. For your time and expertise, you will receive a honorarium and $200 in SAGE book credits. We are also offering an incentive for review participants who submit their reviews by December 2nd: an additional honorarium and book credits.

Please let me know if you currently teach a course that a book like this would be used in (Writing in Sociology) and if you’re able to do the review by the deadline. I’ll send you the materials as soon as possible. If, unfortunately, you’re unable to undertake the review at this time but could recommend someone who might be interested, I’d appreciate that as well.

Sincerely,

Lydia Balian
